CDLC: Contract Executive Director

  • Created in 2019, the CDLC’s mission is to improve the effectiveness of Latino legislators to positively impact public policy and the quality of life for all segments of the Latino community; to inform and educate legislators, other government officials, and the public on topics and issues in areas such as education, criminal justice, immigration, healthcare, housing and economic development, social justice, environmental justice, public safety, and voting rights; and to advocate for the appointment of Latinos at all levels and branches of government.

    Our objective is to encourage Latino participation in all levels of government and be supportive of Latino elected and appointed officials throughout the state.

  • Support CDLC through staffing, managing, and administrative diligence, in coordination with officers

    ★ Implement and update regular communications and outreach plan for CDLC, including press, newsletters, social media, and other digital responsibilities

    ★ Fundraise organizational budget and maintain and grow relationships with donors

    ★ Facilitate discussions and implement priority issue areas internally with the caucus and externally with community and legislative partners

    ★ Community engagement and collaboration with nonprofits and organizations

    ★ Event planning

    ★ Administrative duties to maintain organizational functionality and 501(c)(3) compliance

    ★ Miscellaneous duties as assigned

  • ★ Strong work ethic and an unwavering commitment to professionalism, respect, and confidentiality

    ★ Ability to successfully complete multiple, complex projects in relatively short timeframes

    ★ Strong command of organizing principles and skills

    ★ Effective written and oral communication skills

    ★ Sense of humor

    ★ Ability to work both independently and in teams

    ★ Internal organizational and external coalition management skills

    ★ Ability to build coalitions while understanding community dynamics and maintaining focus on the mission of the organization

    ★ Coordination of multiple schedules, timeframes, and agendas

  • ★ Bilingual in written and spoken Spanish and English

    ★ Professional or personal experience with the Latino communities of Colorado

    ★ Media experience

    ★ Knowledge of the legislative process and procedures

  • The contract begins as soon as practicable, preferably by July 17, 2023, and will end by June 30, 2024, with the potential to extend the contract or upgrade to a full-time employee.

    The contract will pay $4,000 - $5,000 per month, depending on experience, and anticipates an estimated workload of 25-30 hours per week.
